Tumblehome, Inc. seeks to provide a workplace that is free from discrimination or harassment, whether based on race, religion, sex, age, national origin, gender identity, disability, political affiliation, marital status, or sexual orientation. We seek to embrace diversity and inclusion in our authors and artists, our employees and partners, the characters in our books, and the recipients of our services. Employees who feel they have been discriminated against or harassed may bring their concerns to the Executive Director or the Board Chair without fear of retaliation and with the certitude that their concerns will be addressed.
Confidentiality and Privacy: Protecting employees’ privacy rights is critical to contributing to a diverse and inclusive workforce. We work to ensure that employees’ personal information, such as medical information, is appropriately protected. Personal information about an employee will not be released to anyone without a need to know unless the employee has provided prior written consent to having the information disclosed.
Dress and Appearance: There are no particular requirements for dress and appearance except that employees interacting with people outside the company should dress in a way that is professional and respectful.
Workplace assignments and duties: None of Tumblehome’s work assignments are restricted to people of a certain sex or gender.
Sick and medical leave: Employees receiving medical treatment may use sick leave under applicable regulations. Employees who are qualified under the Family Medical Leave Act also may be entitled to take medical leave in accordance with applicable laws.
Hiring process: During the hiring process, hiring managers and supervisors will conduct themselves in a professional manner, and promote Tumblehome’s policy of a diverse and inclusive workforce. Hiring managers should carry out interviews free from discrimination as noted above, in seeking to hire individuals dedicated to Tumblehome’s mission.
